For the past 9 years I have been involved in Boy Scouts with my son and husband. We continue to support our local Boy Scout Troop with our volunteer time being a Merit badge counselor for several badges. To raise money for Boy Scout camp and their scouting costs, we have created a business enterprise called Scout Made. We help the boys organize the donated supplies to make candles, and other small crafts. I mentor the boys and help them make, label and sell their candles at craft fairs.
For 5 years, I owned a home based designer cake company; I have donated several custom designed cakes to the Humane Society of Tacoma’s Fundraiser Gala for 3 years in a row, raising over $1500 in total. I have also organized and led a “Bake Across America” bake sale to raise money for Childhood Hunger in America.
I am the activities director of Cherokee Bay Community in Maple Valley. We organize events for our community to provide fun, safe, family events like movie nights, teen drop ins, food drives, beautification of our neighborhood. We hold fund raisers to help families in need during the holidays and adopt several families to provide holiday dinners and gifts.
For the last 2 years I have been involved in the Tahoma Band Boosters. This coming year I have volunteered for the communications position and help with fundraising for national band competitions for my son.
